Swimming019_1Almost a year after I wrote that darned story, heto, nakadalaw na rin ako sa buhangin–at dagat siyempre. Not exactly the tropical paradise of my dreams, but it’s close. Low tide kasi!
.
Salamat kay Rose Balajay (na kasalukuyang nakakulong dahil sa kanyang pyramid scams) dahil pinatuloy niya kami sa kanyang literally isolated RoseGold resort–o baka naman right of way lang yung gate na dinaanan namin?
.
Kumpleto ang pamilya: Rivero (Lola), Rivero (Uncle Alan), Rivero (Uncle Eddie, siya ang host), Rivero (Uncle Jun), Badel (perfect attendance), Jordan (minus the parents, uwi na kayo Auntie Ching!), at Gavarra (siyempre perfect attendance).

Swimming025Inay and Aruen. Swimmer or suicidal, I don’t know.

Just remembered something from Closer:

Dan: Didn’t fancy my sandwiches?
Alice: Don’t eat fish.
Dan: Why not?
Alice: Fish piss in the sea.
Dan: So do children.
Alice: Don’t eat children either.

That’s why you shouldn’t swim. At all.

Swimming042Ah, the majestic low tide beach. Di pa nga knee deep sa lalim. Para kang nagmimilagro ‘pag dito ka naligo. So imagine a family of 20 doing a celebrated biblical stunt. Holy bleep!

One good thing about this lunar lunacy (what?) e maraming mapupulot. Mga starfish, hermit crabs, seaweeds (okay, hindi namin pinulot ‘to), at iba pang yamang dagat. Sayang ‘di kami nakapulot ng whale shark. Maganda sa aquarium yun.

Swimming027

Please, stop hunting sea cows. Endangered na sila.
Torture them if you like, but please don’t kill them.

In other aquatic news, the author has received reports that the sea cows have been slowly evolving over the last thousand years, significantly faster than any other organism on the planet, even humans. Of course, this is just a space filler for the next pic.

Swimming002_edit

.

Aruen: Awraaawwbraag laag blaahh blahhh.

Translation: Mga $%!&@ kayo! Bilis! Gusto ko nang maligo!

Lahat: Opo, master.

.

Swimming012_edit I almost dropped someone else’s phone with this pic. Magtulakan kayo.

Mukhang magandang lugar ‘to para isulat ang aking susunod na obra: Pagdalaw sa Buhangin, The Musical. On Ice.

.

Ten years ago, ginawa na namin ‘yan e. At nakuhanan na rin kami ng picture. Ito madalas ang routine:
1. Maghahabulan.
2. Tren-tren (kapit-kapit sa tubig)
3. Pating-patingan.
4. See pic.
5. Sasama ang mga nanay.
6. May malulunod.
7. Tatawa kami.
8. Repeat 1-7.
9. Repeat some more.

Teka, ba’t wala akong matinong pic? Porke ba ang motto ko these days ay "behind the camera," ibig na sabihin isa lang ang pic ko?

Swimming008

Okay, I rest my case. (pero ‘di pa rin matino e)

:D
