Underneath Once Inside

Distraction is never the answer to a wound that keeps on bleeding, for memory is resilient and indestructible. And when a memory is torn apart by a violent parting of ways, it leaves a wound only a crossroad could mend. Some try resorting to the half-cure that is distraction, but, as always, a distraction just that: a distraction. It has to end somewhere, sometime.

And in the eyes of Eliza, it all ended in a place where dreams are sold in boxes. She might not see the significance of things, but her mother sure did. Her distraction came to an end in between the rows of simple pleasures. And her world, once secure, once peacefully empty, all came crashing down.

Inside the palace of affordable joys, inside the broken heart of a woman left unsure, inside the heard of a man left in the dark, inside the innocent heart of a girl who only wanted a doll with a perpetual smile, lie the remnants of a path torn apart.
