While surfing through some last minute "wikitrivias," I stumbled upon some pretty interesting/laughable information about future host cities of the Summer Olympics. Surprisingly enough, the Philippines have apparently expressed interest in becoming the host country, with Manila as their target city. Hooray for our super-sensible national spending! More reasons not to finish that wretched road to Lagonoy, Camarines Sur!

Anyway, during the Atlanta mania of 1996, I was actually envisioning our little country hosting the future Olympics — not in Manila but in Cebu, with the surrounding islands holding specific events. Which wouldn’t be so hard, considering that we’d be using unmanned flying cabs and teleportion devices by then.  Besides, according to the wiki-know-it-all, we’re already experts at teleportion. Just ask Gil Pérez!
